6th October - Castle Combe Test:

It had been drizzling all night and carried on with a fine wet mist as we took to the circuit with wets on the car. It was like being on ice, there was so little grip available, in fact coming through the Esses, I watched the car in front pirouette off the circuit and into the field. This didn't help my confidence although the sliding around was quite fun, albeit hard work. At 1"19.5 secs, I had already gone quicker than my last race here, which was in good conditions. I was definitely heading in the right direction again.

We did managed to get one session where we were able to put the slicks on and I improved my time to 1"18.0 secs, but I was clearly disappointed that I was unable to improve on this. However, there's no doubt that the circuit was very slippery, so the experience I gained was well worthwhile.
