Friday 31st. March - Oulton Park (Fosters) - Test:

The weather forecast for the next couple of days was very mixed. Indeed, overnight it poured down. We were the first session out in the morning and although it had stopped raining, the circuit was going to be very slippery.

Never haven driven Fosters before, I had no benchmark to gauge myself by. In the first session, the main thing was to familiarise myself with the circuit and see where a dry line was developing. We went out on slicks and sure enough it was very greasy.

By the second session, the windy weather had pretty well dried the track out and it felt much more grippy. The aim now was to start building up some decent lap times, in preparation for tomorrows’ race. It’s quite a technical circuit with lots of undulations and cambers to unsettle the car. There’s plenty of places to make up time but an equal number waiting to catch you out if you get it wrong.

Overall, it was another good test day, with my times coming down on each session. My best time by the end of the day was 1min 06.1 secs.
