29th August 2005 - Castle Combe Race (car rebuilt, again) - Phew:

What a beautiful Summer's day we had, absolutely glorious. The only thing showing shins of stress was me and my Tuscan, which amazingly repaired again but did display a battle scar at the rear end.

As much as I desperately wanted to be able to go fast again, I just knew that all I could do today would be to try and finish WITHOUT INCIDENT, and get my next signature.

I managed to do that alright, but quite frankly I could have been drinking a cup of coffee whilst reading the newspaper, at the speed I was going around today. A miserable 1min 21secs was my best time. It just shows you that in all sports you "mind" is not only your greatest asset but is also your greatest limiting factor. I need to sort this out and exorcise the demons from Oulton Park if I was going to move on from here.

Tim and I agreed a test day at Oulton was needed!
